Building a New Home – Getting Started

While Interest Rates remain very appealing,  the anticipation of owning a new home built to your specifications, style preferences and space requirements is very inviting.   When considering Custom Building in Columbus Indiana or New Construction anywhere you might live, the difficulty is often “just where to start”.    Questions about which Home Builder, where to build, the House Plan,  where to find House Plans, even how much does it cost, where do I get financing, when do I get the financing – all good questions that need answers as you even CONSIDER the prospect of Building a New Home!

We, at Breeden Construction, are equipped to answer your questions, share information about the process and meet with you as you assess your wants and needs.    Although some fear that meeting with a Home Builder means an obligation to that Home Builder to sign and buy and be certain that you want to Build or know what you want to Build.

Our approach is slightly different in that we would like to first sit down and discuss in a meeting with you our process, explaining the steps we take and sharing information.   Without any pressure on you to make a decision – now or in the future – you can take the facts we share and then evaluate if building a new home is really what you want to do.   Only after you have decided that you would like to proceed will we then meet again to share a little more information about plans and prices.

As you consider Building a New Home, you are welcome to view some of the homes we are planning to build in 2011:    Visit “Buying or Building” on the header bar of our website and select and view any of the six homes from the drop-down list.   We are building three new homes in Broadmoor North, two in Heathfield in Broadmoor North and one in McCulloughs Run.  As you look at the information on each of these six homes, you will have the opportunity to see the front exterior of the home (artist rendering), the floor plans, address and details and a location map.

You can also visit “House Plans” to view some of the architects and designers we use and have an opportunity to connect to their websites and view thousands of plans.   You will have the option on these websites to enter your criteria – Style of Home, One-Story, Two-Story, Square Footage – minimum, maximum,  bedrooms, bathrooms, etc.

We hope you enjoy this information and that it provides you facts to get you started on your evaluation on whether you might consider building.  If you then decide you would like more information, you are welcome to call or e-mail us with your questions or schedule a meeting to gain more information and ask questions first hand..  Please call us if we can be of any assistance.  You are also welcome to contact us through e-mail.
